A Day at the Ranch

My uncle Kevin has a ranch in Sierra Blanca which is about two hours from here. We've never been out there and it just so happened that he needed a ride up there and we had the day off.

Here's the home, it's nice and cozy!

As soon as Kevin pulled in, these cows were there to greet us. It's funny how they knew. Hi cows!

Danny watching the cows.

Danny had a blast on the ranch. He loved not having to be in his car seat and learning how to drive!

Funny story. When we got there, Kevin had to go around the ranch to turn on the water pumps and to give the cows and horses their treat. This is how he rounds them up, and it works! As soon as the cows and horses heard Kevin's truck they flocked to him. It was so funny to see this huge herd of cattle following the truck.

Afterwards, Danny got to ride on a horse! He's such a natural considering mommy and daddy were such chickens. He wasn't scared at all.

He even rode the horse by himself for a while, while I was terrified he might fall off. He did great though! He didn't even slide to either side, he held on really good!

Here's Cecilio, and I quote, as he was getting on the horse, "Can horses sense fear?"

I was reluctant to get on but surprised by how fun it was! The horse's name was Huckleberry, he's actually Marcy's horse. He was such a sweetheart! We fell in love with him. We really had a nice time and have decided we have to make time to go out there more!

I didn't get pictures of our dogs, Neo and Trinity but they really enjoyed the ranch too. They've never been outside without a leash so they were in heaven. Trinity, the little one, was very adventurous and was all over the place. Neo, on the other hand was a big chicken! As soon as he saw the horses he jumped inside the truck and would not come out!

How fun!! We went out right when Cliff got home from his mission and he took me on a RIDE. My horse followed his RUNNING horse through the desert. Frightening but thrilling. I LOVED it!
