Anniversary Gift

For our anniversary we decided to go to our local pottery shop to make our gift. According to most lists for your eighth anniversary you are "suppose" to give either a gift made of bronze or pottery. We usually don't go by the list but, I've been wanting to go to this little shop since in opened a few years ago and so, what better excuse.

Here's Daniel doing his part to help.

Cecilio drawing up some designs.

Daniel getting into trouble. What is it about water?

Doing my part now, which wasn't much. I guess you can say I supervised mostly.

And here it is, the finished product! A little memento to remind us of our family at eight years of marriage. I'm not sure if you can tell but the waves spell out "Navarro". A nifty little design Cecilio came up with on behalf of my crazed obsession with the ocean.
Happy Anniversary!

Happy 8th Anniversary!!

How We Met
Cliff Notes Version
We met in December of 1997 at the Institute of Religion for our church. All of my "couple" friends had invited me to the movies with them and I didn't want to be a third wheel, so I invited Cecilio and a few other people not really thinking anything of it. Nothing really happened that night. I didn't feel sparks or anything, but little by little we started hanging out a little more and eventually we started dating about a month after that. I fell head over heels for Cecilio and we were inseparable. Six months later he left on his mission. This was probably one of the hardest things I had to do. Saying bye to him for two years was not easy, but it had to be done. About four months later, I"dear john-ed" him. I know how horrible that must sound but it just happened. I never thought he would come looking for me when he returned, but he did, and...we were married a year later.

Today is our wedding anniversary!! I just can't believe we've been married almost a decade already. Marriage has been amazing. I really do love being married, and it doesn't hurt that I'm married to the best man ever! The things we've been able to do together have been so amazing, especially starting our little family. I love you honey, thank you for all of the happiness you bring to my life. We've been married a long time but I know the best is yet to come. Happy anniversary!!

Saying good bye for two years at the airport.

4th of July Day Happenings

For the fourth of July we went to my Tia Marta's house, then we went to the Rosemont chapel to watch the fireworks at night. It was beautiful. The day was perfect. At my Tia Marta's Danny got really brave with his swimming. He decided he wanted to jump off the diving board. Cecilio helped him at first but after that, he jumped I don't know how many times!

Here's a little video of his swimming skills. He's getting pretty good.

Having fun in the sprinkler. We had just given Danny a shower and put on a fresh set of clothes. Luckily I had taken a back up for the back up.

Danny's newest little cousin, Lisandro Guliani. This is my cousin Luis' little baby.

Watching the fireworks. He was mesmerized.

Overall it was a great day. Hope everyone enjoyed their 4 of July!!

Happy 4th of July

4th of July Day Kick Off

What a great way to start off our 4th of July weekend! Our primary was part of a tri-ward 4th of July activity hosted at none other than the Rosemont chapel. There were games, activities, crafts, face painting, and a parade!! (There was a decorating stations for kids' bikes and wagons and at the end of the activity there was a parade put on by the kids.) I had such a good time!! Eventhough I was at the face painting station the whole time, the activity really brought the true spirit of the 4th of July. Happy Birthday USA!!

Boy scouts getting ready to hoist the flag up.

There it goes.

What a beautiful flag we have. I love this country.

Let the games begin.

Danny, stealing someone's car. I'm surprised no one noticed.

I've never face painted before, and I have to say it was really fun! I was so nervous the day before. 'What if the kids don't like it, what if they yell at me', these were some of the things going through my head. Once I did the first few though...Loved it!! The kids were great, and the time flew!

Danny setting up some cones.

Our ward waiting their turn to enter the parade.

Hi Danny, what is going on?

He just sat on his bike cause everyone else was.

Once the parade started this is what he did.

He ran. Nice pace Danny.

Enjoying an otter pop popscicle after a good run and activity.
Yeah, it was a good day. Can't wait for tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!

Ready For the Movies Yet?

...Not quite.

The last time we actually went to a theater was about 2 years ago. We did go to a drive in about a month ago, but an actual theater, no. So, we figured we'd try. We chose
Ice Age since Danny loves watching it at home. Although he doesn't quite sit through the whole thing we figured the big screen and popcorn would do the trick.

After going up and down the stairs, then being forced to sit in his seat, he watched some of the movie, then concked out. If it wasn't for him falling asleep, I'm not sure he would of lasted the whole movie.

Maybe next year. Unless we have another one by then. Man, thank goodness for DVDs.

His Real Smile Captured...Finally

It's beautiful.

I think I could just look at these pictures all day.

There's a song that my mom used to sing to me and my brothers that comes to mind when looking at these pictures. Now I know what she must have felt when singing it to us.

Look at that face -
Just look at it,
Look at that fabulous face of yours.
I knew first look I took at it,
This was the face that the world adores.

Look at those eyes -
As wise and as deep as the sea.
Look at that nose -
It shows what a nose should be.

As for your smile, it's lyrical -
Friendly and warm as a summer's day -
That face is just a miracle.
Where could I ever find words to say

The way that it makes me happy
Whatever the time or place?
I'll find in no book
What I find when I look
At that face.
