NieNie

This morning I read the visiting teaching message for September. The title of it is "The Gospel of Jesus Christ Teaches the Eternal Potential of the Children of God." The quote that touched me the most was the one by Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president,

“Oh, that every girl and woman would have a testimony of her potential for eternal motherhood. … Female roles did not begin on earth, and they do not end here. A woman who treasures motherhood on earth will treasure motherhood in the world to come, and ‘where [her] treasure is, there will [her] heart be also’ (Matthew 6:21). By developing a mother heart, each girl and woman prepares for her divine, eternal mission of motherhood” (“A ‘Mother Heart,’ ” Liahona and Ensign, May 2004, 76).

I just loved it because it reinforced what is sometimes so easy to forget.

After reading this I went on to read my email and came across an article on LDS Living about a couple named Christian and Stephanie Nielson. They are an LDS couple with four kids who were recently in a plane crash and survived. They are both still in intensive care and will be for months to come. Here is a link to article, http://ldslivingonline.com/article.php?articleId=72688

The article mentioned that she had a blog and listed the address. As I browsed through her blog I have to say I was just so touched by this woman. She truly treasures being a mother and wife, and what a greater example of having a "mother heart". I just was so impressed with her.

According to the article, it seems many bloggers have been touched by her as well. I'd like to be part of that love and support for the Nielson family. I've put some links on my blog for any who are interested. I know Heavenly Father continues to bless this family through this tragic event. I know that the He hears and answers our prayers and my prayers go out to her, her husband, and family.

Too Early for a Halloween Background?

I know it might be a little early for a halloween background but I figured if I didn't do it now, I probably wouldn't get to it until the day before halloween......... or something like that. And to further defend myself, from myself, here is a wonderful quote:

"Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today."

Spending Time with Gramita (Great-Grandma)

Daniel is so blessed to have both his great-grandmothers in his life. Here are a few pictures we snapped at my grandma's house. He really enjoys going to her house. She lets him get into EVERYTHING!

Enjoying Gramita's rocker. I just can't get enough of that smile! It cracks me up.

Here he is screaming "ma!! while looking at the birds. He calls everything "ma".

Just being silly.

Labor Day

For Labor Day Cecilio's mom came to visit and we just took it easy and went to the Outlet Mall. It was a beautiful day to be walking around there. Danny seemed to have a nice time too. With Cecilio's crazy schedule it was nice to spend time together as a family. I really cherish these days.

We forgot our stroller so we rented one there. Danny was thrilled to ride in it.
"But why is the rum gone?"
Right now, Danny has a thing for Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. As soon as he saw this ride he was the happiest boy on the planet. Thanks to dad, while grandma and mom did some shopping, he got to ride in the Spideymobile. It totally made his day.

Spend a Morning with Danny

I'm a very busy boy. I play, eat, sleep and then do it all over again. It's sometimes tough being a toddler but I really enjoy it. Today I wanted to share what I do on a typical morning with you.
First, I wake up early and cook breakfast. Today I'm cooking some apple slices my mom cut for me. Mmmmmm, this is going to be delicious.
After breakfast, I step into the bathroom to take a shower.
Nice and clean. Oooooo, it feels good to be clean!

After posing for some pictures, I make my way to the bedroom to get dressed.
Ahhhhhh, what a nice surprise, Neo's in here.
I'll take a few minutes to play with with him before I get dressed.
After getting dressed I play for a while, read a few books and then realize all this work has worn me out. It's time for some rest and relaxation. I pop in a good movie and just relax.

There you have it guys. That is how my mornings usually go. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share it with you.
